Ha ha! Next week's episode sees T&P " explore the Marne-Rhine Canal, where they get to grips with a complicated system of locks, and sample local wine" What could possibly go wrong?

Wasn’t it a lovely hour’s viewing, gentle, amusing and interesting. No locks or bridges to negotiate !

As there is nothing on that I fancy I left this whilst channel-hopping. I've seen quite a few of the previous episodes but this one is just wonderful. How peaceful, what lovely funny and apt comments from these two. They are definitely selling this, even I fancy it and i hate travelling!

I always come away thinking, I'd like to go on a canal holiday. I think that's why LeBoat were advertising in the advert break, to try and get the punters before the change there mind when the episode ends.

As I was washing up and clearing down tonight, getting the bins ready for collection tomorrow and knowing that I still have to do loads more preparation for work tomorrow I pondered on the camera shots of Pru and Tim sitting serenely atop their boat gazing at the beautiful views and slow meandering down the canals.
Perhaps it is time to retire . . .
I loved the sentiments they exchanged whilst staring into each other's eyes, what love they have. Wonderful.

They get through some wine, those two! - and after any bit of stress or effort they're rewarding themselves with a glass or two...
You don't have to be in a hurry on a canal journey (unless you're desperately trying to reach somewhere to moor before it gets dark!) - and Tim & Pru are never in a hurry. That boat lift was an impressive piece of engineering, but if it was me I think I'd rather be taking all day to get through the 17 locks it replaced - especially as there had been bars handily placed between them!

How lucky they are to be able to make these programmes, which must be helping Prue deteriorate more slowly.

A real booze cruise was this. I thought Prue was looking a bit frailer. Nice hat she had.

Port was being poured into glasses every time they met up with anyone!
I'll definitely be watching next week as it's the Monmouth & Brecon canal, which is one I've actually had a holiday on - in 1965, when leisure use had only just started on the canal and some locks were still in a terrible state of disrepair.

She does look frail , doesn't she? Leastways she and Tim have money to keep her interested.

The countryside looked fabulous, with what looked like a fairly tranquil river in a deep gorge most of the way. I was interested that the vineyard owners they met were mostly English. I knew they were originally set up by Brits but didn't think they would still be in foreign ownership.
Mostly I'm egging them on in their booze consumption but port doesn't agree with me, especially not in the heat.
Pru is doing marvellously, though clearly we're always seeing her at her best. I wonder how many of the film crew are travelling with them, if any, or if they do their filming and then clear off? This week's boat was pretty big but they aren't usually.

I get the impression that they have the evenings to themselves but during the day they're filming pretty much all the time. I found an article from a local paper about next week's episode (link below), which says it was filmed over 5 days, and at least twice during those a whole day was spent filming at a single location. Link (slight spoiler warning - contains some details of the next episode): www.brecon-radnor.co.uk/article.cfm?id=105204
