I predicted about three series ago that they wouldn't be able to do any more, and have been proved utterly wrong.
However, I get the sense now that they are being kept afloat (deliberate pun!) by Channel 4, which is packing as many trips as possible in for them while it still can. Increasingly Pru's contributions especially, and Tim's more than they were, seem to be staged. When they started doing these the aura was of cameras following two well-known actors enjoying their leisure activity in the British countryside. Now it's more (for me, anyway) of two well-known actors reluctantly being persuaded out of their comfort zone into anchoring TV travel programmes, often in exotic world locations. Maybe I'm being too cynical.

Last Sunday's (the Rideau canal, Canada) could really be their last - the couple raised that possibility once or twice during the programme. I assume this series has now finished since there was no "next time" bit at the end. There is an episode next Sunday, but it's a repeat (Portugal) from the previous series.

Tim did say at the beginning of this series that he felt that Pru was benefiting from the stimulation of travel, and he thought they were doing the right thing. She certainly appears to enjoy the trips.
I agree that more of it is 'set up' now, but it's nonetheless enjoyable for the viewer.

Sam West was on Christmas University Challenge the other night, looking more like his father than ever as he gets older.

This is back tonight. First of a two-parter. Vietnam and Cambodia. Lets hope Prue doesn't lose her hat and Tim doesn't crash into anything.

Haven't looked at times yet but it might clash with The Handmaid's Tale which also returns tonight. I usually record anything t on a channel with ads so will have to choose!

This was excellent. Great scenery and countries. Prue and Tim are so good.

A new episode tomorrow (Sunday, C4 8.00 pm).
It looks like this really, really is going to be the last! For a start it re-visits the Oxford canal, on which Tim & Pru took their first ever canal trip together way back when. Plus there are reminiscences and favourite moments from earlier series.

It did seem rather final didn't it. Nice to them re-visiting the scenes of Timothy's 'crashing' I didn't realise they had been on canal journeys for so long

There's a rather lovely review in the Guardian. I don't have the URL to hand but you can easily find it. The reviewer also feels that this is a last hurrah, though there is another programme next week.
I forgot to record it so will have to watch on catch-up, unfortunately, unless it's repeated which is quite likely.
