England fans are never happy. Well, a lot of us are not. I'm happy as Larry! And will be until we get Germany. And then I will be resigned to losing on penalties.  A lot of England fans still see us as worldbeaters that everyone else should fear and that we have a right to get through and win. And when we don't score loads and trample all over the opposition, they complain. Even though we win and get through the group at the top so stay at Wembley. It's a delusion that is very difficult to get rid off for many fans. |

The next round is going to be hard for us, but then it's hard for every team. To get to the tournament means you are the best teams in Europe.
Southgate was overheard prior to the tournament - a good while prior, that getting to the quarter finals is considered to be a good tournament by most European teams and he wished fans would understand that. Being in the top 8 is a significant achievement. Mind you we might not get that far, looking at the opposition.
On the 1-0 situation, Portugal won every game except the final 1-0 at the last Euros.
For me, it's just a joy that this is on. It doesn't appear to be sending covid spiralling across Europe and it's such a positive thing. I got Hungary in the work draw and to say I'm surprised is an understatement.

I remember when Greece won in 2004. We had a sweep at work and my manager, who knew nothing about football, drew them. Everyone told her to chuck the ticket in the bin as they had no chance. She was proper chuffed at what happened.

I think we've got a good chance against Germany this year. I'm just watching their game now and they are a bit rubbish. If we can just believe that we can beat them, then we can. But it will probably go to penalties.

Nuts!  There is a lot of support for Denmark from neutral fans following Erikson's collapse in their first game and the sheer trauma they went through. More games to come tonight. Might have them on in the background. |

The skill from Denmark was excellent. The home nations do seem to be lacking - too many foreign players in our leagues perhaps? We need more home grown talent.
Austria are holding Italy to a no score draw in the first half.

OMG - Austria are playing their socks off. What a shame that goal was not allowed.
But by all accounts VAR has given the correct decision every time it has been consulted, be it a competition like this or UK matches.
Extra time! I suspect Italy will score at some point but cannot help but cheer for Austria, the underdogs.
