All England need to do now is force a draw in their final group match thus finishing second in the group and avoiding whichever country finishes second in group F....the group of death. All part of Southgates masterplan to the final....😉

We watched this in our local Italian bar - both very underwhelmed by England's performance. The Scots battled for every ball and made a good show of it. Unfortunately out local public TV station won't be showing the last England match - damn Sky TV!

I’m really pleased with the result as the chatter before was how much Scotland were going to be beaten by, all we need now is for all the fans to get home safely without causing a spread and no vandalism. In respect of vandalism they trashed the Shakespeare Fountain in Leicester Square. Saw it this morning. Absolutely disgusting (though much credit to the few fans that did attempt to tidy up in the area generally).

The Scottish government should offer to meet the cost of the clear up if the SFA do not do so.
It would have been better had there been a decent sized designated fan zone with toilets etc.
Watching France v Hungary. Budapest, where it is being held, appears to have no social distancing whatever. There are HUGE crowds packed together.
And they have just gone 1 up over favourites France.

The local shops probably sold out of booze and made a profit while at it and the authorities were warned that thousands were travelling but decided to not have any fan zones. I know they had 1 for 750 nhs workers. I agree the flower bed round the fountain has been destroyed but if the statue is still secure count yourselves lucky. The Rangers fans in George Square Glasgow caused £58k worth of damage to the statues and benches by dancing on them. I wonder if any of the tartan army charity work was done this time, normally they donate to local kids charities in the host city. Glasgow gets to see these folk again on Tuesday. France have equalised.

Everyone in the stadium in Budapest had to show they'd had two vaccinations. Hungary ignored the EU and went their own way and are way up the table of population vaccinated.

That's good to know Beverley because looking at the TV screen it was like a petri dish of Covid.
But instead it will be a good test case for how the vaccine copes.

It's a funny old game, yesterday we were complaining about England, Portugal and today Spain and France were no better. Germany only managed their 4-2 as Portugal scored for them twice.

Well done Wales, through to the knock out stages.
Had to laugh when a Welsh player stamped on the ankle of an Italian and was promptly shown a red card. Cue studio pundits saying
"that's a bit harsh!".
Really? If someone stamped on any of the home nations players, you would declare war!

I know I heard one of them saying 'there was no real intent there', and I thought well if somebody in a studded boot jumped on my ankle I'd probably be in A&E.

Years ago Alan Shearer was caught on camera elbowing an opposing player in the face.
This was dismissed as "a bit of argy bargy".
Had it been the other way round, it would have been a penalty earning foul.
The refs have warned the players that stamping on each other will earn a red card so they have no excuse. It is easy, with VAR, to tell the accidental collisions from the deliberate kicks.

"The Italians reverting to type. Outrageous tackle" would be the cry.
