First episode and everyone is frozen in the tent. One chap said his face was nearly frozen off. Things were setting just on the bench.
I never understand why they have them in a tent. They're freezing, sometimes they're sweltering, others it's rainy and damp, or the wind is blowing. The place must get full of flies and moths. It's just stupid.

My recording didn’t work properly (something wrong with the HD signal tonight cos EE was a bit dodgy too) so I shall have to record the repeat on 4seven.

I noticed that later they had put a plastic screen across the tent opening. Poor things were standing in their coats.
Everyone was good, nobody had a disaster.

There's a lot of chat on Threads about Barbie and the contestants having to do something stupid. But no details

It was nothing really, just the presenters trying to do a funny intro, as if the tent was a Barbie world and they were arguing over who would be Barbie. 3 minutes max and they've always done stuff like this. The only stupid thing was making them attempt to cook in a freezing cold tent. It was probably a bit more innuendo driven, but that's why it's past the watershed. It is always a bit like that, so nothing to scare the horses. I mean if you're going to make a cake that is a replica of your pet hen called Fanny, what do you expect!! The cake by the way was amazing, very realistic.
If she put down that she had a pet called Fanny on her application form, she probably got fast tracked to the interviews. I mean it's a gift for producers isn't it.

I liked the Taste and Bake technical. Look at a mini battenburg for five minutes then make eight without a recipe.

Well that was odd! John coming over ill the second week in a row, Illyin fainting, another falling off his chair! Not surprised who left though, she had disaster after disaster really.

That technical… I thought they were going to be given prepared dough like Paul had and just had to plait it then bake it. I didn’t realise they would have to make the dough as well. I was thinking well that should be quite easy then, 😂😂😂
I can only watch half tonight so will see the results tomorrow, 🥖

Making bread dough is quite simple, they must all know they are going to make it on the show. It's the proving and baking that are the issue. Everyone did really well. I was hoping Nelly was going to get star baker but was also pleased when the other chap did. They all seem very likeable and nobody is annoying me much. Well Sumaya may be annoying me a tad, but not enough to make it irritating, it's just they way she is and it may be all down to editing. I think we all have to calculate for that now don't we.

A shock result after the first couple of weeks! But those sunken bagels did for him. Andy was lucky that happened or his ugly looking showstopper would have finished him off. 😂😂. Nelly did so well!

Paul said something really telling tonight. When they were talking about whether Mike or Sumaya should go home he said 'We have to think about who will do better going forward'.
I nearly shouted at the TV.
Surely you eliminate the person who has done worst that week.
Sumaya's hibiscus caramel did not set, her tarte taking put her in 7th or 8th and her show stopper was an unmitigated disaster. I really felt for Mike who made nice biscuits, a decent tatin and went out on his mousse cake because there wasn't enough mousse.
The whole caramel week was a sickly affair overall. I like caramel but it was too much.

I just knew they would keep Sumaya. I would just say that the green gunk on her showstopper which all but came off when Paul tried to cut it and clung to his knife like… well who could describe that…, looked absolutely disgusting! I really liked Mike, he seemed adorable. I liked that when walking across the grounds he had often offered his arm to one of the women, and he didn’t seem to have an unpleasant bone in his body. I’m pleased Nelly was safe because she makes me laugh.

I’m not. I couldn’t stand her voice! She talks with that fake throaty affectation that minor celebs seem to adopt in LaLa Land. And I usually love a Liverpool accent.
With apologies if she actually can’t help how her voice sounds.
