Hopefully he doesn't get too hard a time in public; people have been known to give actors a seriously hard time over the parts they have played.

For all you Sarah fans out there….Watch her in Julia( the American chef) Quite brilliant. I second that. She's excellent in 'Julia' - a second series of which is coming to Sky Atlantic/Now TV before long.

I read an article today that said the stand out thing for them was that the police officers are always police officers who know their duty and don't step away from it. They're not corrupt, they're not lazy, they report things the correct way. They dont interview suspects on their own. She kept her radio on at the end, knowing it would recorded. This is text book training because otherwise there'd be no proof of what either of them said or did.
It also said that Mare of Eastown was a direct lift of Series 1. I hadn't even thought of that.

Only thing that puzzled me last night was the very low key guarding/watching of Catherine's home. I would have assumed it would have been under surveillance, front and back, 24/7 in case Tommy turned up. As it was there was one cop who he managed to evade easily.

All of my thoughts have been expressed by you lot already so I don't have much to add other than I wonder if Wee Rosy will start taking her coat off now.
Incredible acting by all. TLR's emotions palpable. Brilliantly done.

It was her security blanket, in a way. She never felt safe around her father.

I got quite emotional when Catherine asked Andy what would happen to the two little girls and he quietly said "there's a grandmother" whilst looking hard at her. That was a lovely touch I thought.

I'm hoping to get the first season finished tonight. I#ll probably take a break after that before watching the rest.

Oh yes. I read that last night too, Vicky. Well observed account.
MrC and I started watching from the beginning last night. I was wrong to think he loved it 7 years ago. He’s certain he hasn’t seen it before. Perhaps it was one of the boys I watched it with. Anyway, he agrees it’s certainly gripping. (We watched 2 eps instead of Silent Witness which has now finished).

Thanks for the locations link: it's interesting reading. I remember thinking that I could happily live where the Hepworth and Bhatti houses were. Fabulous views! Catherine's kitchen would have given me a migraine though! I've always assumed that all those strong, clashing colours were Clare's doing.

Something I watched last week, might have been The One Show, visited Catherine’s house and the chap who lives there now. They all commented on the colour scheme! He said it took some getting used to 😆

I would quite happily live there. I love the back garden and the way it seems to open onto a village square.
