So far, there's one Plantagenet story, one related to royalty elsewhere, one slavery story and one urban working poor. Not sure if there's a Holocaust story. So less than half will be something we haven't heard before.

Oh lor, not Bear Grylls! Can't stand that bloke. Ooh, that will be interesting for me. My house used to be owned by Bear Gryll’s grandfather. I know he has rich line of military service in his bloodline. Perhaps I’ll learn a little more about what he (the grandfather) did. I do know he met Churchill here several times.

I expect Grylls will be surprised to find out there are links to royalty in his background. I say surprised sarcastically because it would only take the man 5 minutes on the Peerage Online (as he is in it), to find out.
It will be more of a case of which person they pick out. I bet it's not the one who was governor of plantations - he wasn't very happy when someone asked him about that one.

Yesterday's programme was very interesting. ALW was taken back to Henry XIII's time and to the Battle of Waterloo!

I found it interesting and liked Andrew Lloyd Webber's no-nonsense down to earth approach: no luvvie emoting which I can't stand. I did laugh at the conversation with his brother over the rope dancer!

I enjoyed it but found it irritating that he kept pronouncing the surname incorrectly even when told differently. Why would you look at Magito and think 'Maheetoe'?

I enjoyed it but found it irritating that he kept pronouncing the surname incorrectly even when told differently. Why would you look at Magito and think 'Maheetoe'? I thought it was because his much loved dog is called Mojito. He found it amusing that his musical gene came from a family with a similar name. I have the same kind of mind!

Claire Foy last night. A truncated bit of one side and then a much longer bit about the Fenians in Manchester. Correct me if I'm wrong but hasn't this storyline been covered by another celeb. Perhaps it was on DNA Journeys or something but it was almost a carbon copy.
I'm always surprised when they find out their relative is accused of murder or treason and they don't think about capital punishment until some historian tells them - perhaps it's what the directors tell them to do but duh!

It's certainly been covered somewhere before and more than once I think. I found it a bit boring.

It wasn’t one of the most entertaining episodes, that’s for sure!

Oh lor, not Bear Grylls! Can't stand that bloke. I know of him and what it is he is well known for but have never watched a programme with him in it until this one last night. Now I'm with you Miranda. What an irritating man!
