Yes, nice to see common sense prevailing, though not very likely in real life. It was certainly a feel-good ending with all the conspirators' partners supporting them. I suspect it would not end well for Tessa whom we last saw leaving her office after being suspended – it would have been nice to see some resolution there. Jason's outcome was a bit twee – I'd have preferred to see him reconciled with his mother and perhaps also with Tessa's husband. Not sure if the future was overly bright for Colin either, which is a pity as it was his eloquence that persuaded Cassie to her course of action.
I did wonder, once I'd thought about it a bit, how Marion could have bundled David Walker's body into a suitcase and either thrown it into the water or heaved it over the side of a boat. She would have to have had help, which suggests they helped each other and acted in twos rather than individually. We don't know how Sara and Colin carried out their deeds, but as Colin's abuser was never found, it's possible Sara took him by surprise and shoved him over the side of the boat, so not as much brute force required. And Colin could have bullied Marion's father into hanging himself I guess. I appreciate the halting of the investigation means these things were not explained but I do like loose ends to be tied up!
But I'm being picky – fantastic performances all round, with another stand-out scene from Mark Bonnar. I can't fault any of them, it was gripping from start to finish both as a whodunnit and as an exploration into society's changing views on the sordid subject matter. I gather Chris Lang wants to write another series and I'm sure it will be recommissioned. Cassie's father's story has been resolved – I wonder if we'll meet her other son next time, and if her and Sunny's personal lives will be explored further?

Fantastic drama with a terrific ending. All concerned did a terrific job. One thing I might have missed...Was there ever any form of closure over the Colin blackmail segment??

No, I don't think so. We don't know if Colin handed over the second demand of £20k, after his phone was stolen, but presumably not as Tyler would no longer have any leverage. He could still get him over the original keying of the car, but would be prosecuted himself for the blackmail. My guess is that will fizzle out.
There was also no closure over David Walker as abuse victim. Too long in the past I suppose, and if they are letting the whole thing drop then it will never be investigated. And we don't know if Jason's 'wrong wiring' is because he thought for his whole life that his father had walked out on him, or if he was abused, or indeed if it has nothing to do with his family history. I'm guessing there was no abuse or Tessa would have known.

I agree with all the above. The Jason bit got me started on the crying. A brilliant conclusion to a great series. I'm now downloading the first series, which I missed first time round.

Been discussing this elsewhere (as you do ) and someone has pointed out we don't know if any of the 3 told their partners about the murders. We heard Marion telling her husband about the abuse, but we saw silent shots of Sara and her partner and Colin and his. Left for us to decide, I guess, and I have no problem with that. I do agree it would have been hard for Marion to kill David, get him into a suitcase and dump that in the river, even assuming she performed the deed on the river bank and didn't need to transport the body as well. And hanging a man can't be easy, unless he is unconscious, I suppose. Plus, if you push someone out of a boat and then leave it floating, you have to get back to shore. To do all 3 without being seen borders on the unlikely. But ... hey ... this is a drama ... and, in a way, it wasn't really about the murders.

That was a wonderfully acted series. I feared series 2 might not have been as good as the original, but I think it was even better. I find Cassie a compelling character and I was delighted with the decision she made not to go further with the case. I'm also pleased about the prospect of a third series.

Wow! I didn't think they could top the first series but this was bliss on a plate.I was moved to tears by Colin and know what devastating affects can occur when a child is abused by a member of their own family. It was touching and the outcome was the right one, you just wanted them all to have a better life after finally coming to terms with what had happened and why they did what they did.Brilliant, just hope there's another series.

This series is the only one I have watched for ages. I am so glad I picked this one.
Gripping from start to finish. Also difficult (well for me) to predict the ending so kept me guessing.
I had to have subtitles on but that is probably because I am getting old rather than Nicola Walker mumbling!
Oh, forgot to add . . I was very concerned that the barrister would do something silly before he heard that the police were going to drop the case. I wanted to see him being told and reassured, after all it was his brilliant eloquence that made all the difference. What a scene.

ITV have renewed Unforgotten for a third series.
Six episodes have been ordered, which is set to enter production later this year for a 2017 premiere.
