If you can get subtitles on I-Player Fiona you should give it another go. Thanks for this bidie but seldom use i-player and guess the subtitles if on will just be the same, mostly I do my best to watch the speakers mouth front or side view,it's automatic for lipreaders

Give it a go Fiona. I used to be anti I-Player, but find it great now - particularly for half hour programmes. I checked and subtitles are available.

It may have been around for a while but it still has me in a heap. I think it's better with just the adults and not the children though

I loved this - but I also agree it’s better without the children. I like Lee Mack in most things

I don’t like the child-oriented episodes as much, either, sootycat.
This was a good start to the new series. I like how the whole cast gets funny lines - well done Lee Mack and his writing partners. They’ve even made me laugh at Bobby Ball!

I love Bobby Ball in this - particularly his sparring with Lee's father in law. The height difference alone make me smile. (The Panic Room episode in a previous series was a classic)
Best of all Lucy has grown her hair again! Yes, she suited the pixie cut, but I prefer her hair longer.
The kids are ok - and necessary - in these later series, and they are not too bad. But why can we not produce child actors like the young stars of Stranger Things?

Tonights episode where they were tying to explain the facts of life to those children had me in a heap. Annette Crosby's daughter playing the headmistress was priceless. Like Still Game, there is an extra bit after the credits roll.

It was Lee and Lucy walking past the sex shop as the headmistress came out with a bag of ‘goodies’
