Can’t help feeling that this sitcom might be coming to an end, interesting to see Lee Mack is increasing his presenter profile with the 1% Club and that programme whose name escapes me where everyone is outside in the cold??
But last night’s episode did make me laugh, totally silly and predictable maybe, but a cheerful half-hour. The studio audience certainly seemed to enjoy it, surely that wasn’t canned laughter?

There is another series scheduled after this one - series 11, 12 (current), and 13 were all commissioned at the same time. When I last heard Lee Mack discussing it in an interview (around a year ago with Richard Herring), he said he'd keep writing them for as long as people wanted to watch. Even if the BBC were no longer interested he'd do his best to find a home for it (so, Dave ). It is filmed in front of a live studio audience - in Teddington - but that doesn't mean the laughter, or some of it, as heard isn't recorded, as can sometimes happen. I enjoyed last night's episode. It was different in that none of the other regular cast were in it and to introduce the best part of 12 new characters into a less-than-30 minute episode and flesh them out such that most had a good line or three is not to be underestimated, especially the PCSO, who I thought is hilarious.

The woman playing the PCSO was brilliant, her comic timing was superb. I wonder if she is a comedian.

I don't watch this show so haven't been following the thread, but I happened to notice that it was opened by Geoffers, who hasn't been active for some time. Has he left his role as mod? Hope he's OK.

I haven't heard from him for a while but he was signing in every day. TBH, I haven't checked for a while. If he has gone, then we need to replace him as my backup. If anything happens to me, then someone has to step up as admin. There's quite a lot goes on in the background and I will need to nominate someone with Proboards.

The BBC has confirmed that Lee Mack's award-winning comedy series Not Going Out will receive a festive special as part of the broadcaster's upcoming Christmas TV schedule, marking the sitcom's 100th episode on air.
Starring series creator Mack alongside Death in Paradise's Sally Bretton as Lee and Lucy, the upcoming 100th episode will see chaos as Lee attempts to create the perfect suburban family Christmas, agreeing to Lucy's wishes to have "a normal Christmas where nothing goes wrong".
Feeling inspired by the festive spirit, the couple decide to do something charitable and invite a resident from the nearby care home over to their house to join their celebrations.

I don’t normally watch this show but thought I’d try the Christmas Special. Never again! I thought it was painful, and the only person who actually made me laugh slightly (twice) was Hugh Dennis.

I thought it was excruciatingly awful… apparently they’ve been wondering whether to carry on with the programme - my advice is DON’T
