Me too. Shame because he spoils the rest of the show. I'm sure they could find another superfan who is less annying. There's only one more next week.

I've caught up with this, having recorded it. I have to agree with The Cleaner on this one; Tom is one of my favourite interludes.
The pictures sent in... the cynic in me can't help wondering if some people are deliberately making bad bakes to get shown. In particular those sweets(?) in the shape of teeth keep cropping up, despite the fact they always look dreadful, and I'm not convinced a hedgehog cake is truly that difficult to make.

I like him but do feel a little goes a LONG way.
More time could be spent with the leaving baker if his segment was reduced.

Tom is clearly Marmite, isn’t he?
I love him but I can see that, as Bidie says, a little goes a long way. I sometimes wonder how he is so fast and fluent and whether he can keep it up. And he needs to stop repeating everything twice - it makes him sound like a cheerleader at an OAP’s fun day out. I’m also wondering if they are grooming him to take over, or do holiday relief for Jo, although she seems to love him, as well.

I hope he's not being groomed to take over from Jo.
Part of the problem for me is his delivery, the drawn out "Well" and "here" in a sentence like "Well what have we got here?" for example. He draws out words in everything he does and I find it very annoying. And why is he carrying a balloon whisk when he goes into the audience? If it's a microphone in disguise, it's very affected and adds nothing.

If he takes over, I’ll take off.

Am just watching recordings of the quarter- and semi-finals and cannot believe that Rahul got through after a less than inspiring quarter final; his showstopper was a mess. Kim-Joy, for me, is a delight and I love her attention to detail with her piping. So sorry seeing Briony go, I thought her a lovely, unaffected contestant.
These programs always make me feel the need to get baking ..... and I don't eat cake. Much.

Rahul and his "oh-I-am-so-useless", hang-dog attitude is beginning to get on my nerves. For heaven's sake, man up! He hasn't improved has he? I will be interested to see how he reacts when he wins....as I am pretty sure he will. I am now rooting for Kim-Joy though as she is very clever with the things she creates and SO nice. I got very upset for her when she cried. I won't mind if Ruby wins but hope it will be Kim-Joy.

I'm rooting for Kim-Joy. She is, like her name, pure joy to watch.

I thought it was brave of Danny Baker to publicly say he was tired of Rahul's negativity! Yes, Janet, Tom's whisk is a microphone.

Agree with both of you, cake and vicky. When Kim-Joy cried (real quiet tears) must admit to being a bit tearful myself. But if she doesn't win, I think she'll be a congratulatory loser .... whichever of the other two win.
But when she first appeared with all her colourful cosmetics my first thought was "oo-er" but over the weeks began to like her immensely.

Her appearance is very striking, but now that we see the person beneath the exterior, she's a complete treasure.
