Haven't been watching this but saw the comments on theme tunes. The final ever episode of ER used the original theme music which IMO was so much better suited to the show. And then there was the 50th anniversary Doctor Who which reverted to the original theme. I do realise there's an element of nostalgia in this, we like the original because it reminds of being young etc etc, but I do think, if it isn't broken, why fix it?

That's pretty much my understanding, though they were very confusing!
Zafira (still pretending to be Ameena at that point) said it was done in solidarity with her sister who she'd just got back together with. I think that's probably what happened, though I think Ameena may have taken some persuading - she could hardly be told it was part of a plot to have her done away with and be taken for Zafira!

Thanks for the answers. I suppose if Ameena was still a believing Muslim (and I completely lost track of that) Zafira could have told her the solidarity tattoo stood for her initial and not atheist. (But I still think that that is a peculiar tattoo to have done in the first place.)

It was a twisty story but I really want to sit quietly in that stunning library and read.
Naughty nuns need not attend!

I kept thinking an A in a circle like that was Anarchy - which, of course didn’t fit at all!
I’m tiring of Van Der Valk’s treatment of Clueless, the relentless irritation and bullying.

Oh Gawd, towards the end I was confused about who was doing what to whom where and why and also hoping that no one else in the room here would ask for a clarification. The pointed callous attitude towards the chappie who seems to get much vital information is overdone. We get the message. So VdeV is still an uncouth clever-clogs of the sort usually depicted on the other side of the law. People probably get taken to law for this kind of bully tactics these days. Someone should slip a laxative into his bottle glug to enliven his cool.

Maybe Van Der Valk is mean to that young bloke because he is brighter than him!!

I find it really peculiar that he is so unpleasant, well a bully in fact, to young Cloovers. He is quite a nice chap, I think. And, hello! , a racism charge being lodged at HR if that was going on in a lot of places.

He is not the praising type of boss, is he? And he knows it. Some skills just never seem to be learned by managers. A 'thank you' or a 'well done' is all that is needed. In some ways he is played a little like Saga from The Bridge - totally unaware/unconcerned about the feelings of anyone around them.

Final episode tonight. Slightly later - 8.20.
I will be very annoyed if they bump off the rookie detective!

8.20? I was just gearing up for it now! Actually I sat down to watch it last night as I have lost track of time.
Oh Bidie, has there been a hint of that? I really like him. I cannot understand what Bully Der Valk dislikes about him.

No hint - it is just the sort of thing that sometimes happens in these sorts of dramas. Who can forget Christopher Eccleston's character in Cracker?

Not me! But speaking of more recent shows at least this hasn't been written by Jed Mercurio.

A few thoughts - mid watch.
How fabulous is the pathologist? Cadging a smoke of something illegal over here from some students at a crime scene. Those shirts! Playing patience on the work computer.
How lovely were those gold snake ear-rings worn by the rival female blogger?
And Marc Warren with those blue eyes and that middle of the distance stare. I wonder if he was ever considered for the role of the young Morse in Endeavour?
And lovely Trojan! More scenes with the hound please.
