I'm just watching the second one now. I worked out the killer pretty quickly in the first one due to the Morse trope so I'm hoping this one is a bit more difficult.
And I'm really surprised that Valk hasn't been called out for racism through his treatment of the only black officer on the squad.

I don’t really remember the first series (apart from the music) I would only have been about 13, so I took the new series on face value and didn’t compare it.

Season 2 was out on Britbox abroad 3 months ago, but unless I've missed it there's no sign of S2 being available here yet. A third season has been confirmed and starts filming this summer.

I haven't seen a new series. Not sure I'll bother TBH. The MC is a bully.

I won't bother. It wasn't a patch on the original and to add insult to injury they changed the theme tune. ☹️

I kept muttering, “How do you know she’s really dead?” From about 30 minutes in. The performances are pretty wooden, but the plotting and writing are shockingly bad.
I like the dog.

Oh well done! I didn’t guess that but I wasn’t exactly feeling interested… it was too hot! It wasn’t all that good but watchable for a Sunday night slump. I wonder what Job’s back story is. And why can’t he afford to rent a flat? If he doesn’t want to live at his late mother’s place I would have thought he could sell it. Living in a cupboard at the gym seems unnecessary.

Still not a big fan of Marc Warren, but I'll admit to enjoying S2 more than the first series. Or maybe that was just in comparison with the damp squib 'Marriage' over on BBC1. Anyway, I'll keep a look out for series 3 (if there is one - reports in the spring that S3 had been commissioned were apparently premature).
Next week in ITV's Sunday 8.00-10.00pm slot - 'Ridley' starring Adrian Dunbar as a retired detective brought back as a consultant to help solve a case, ep. 1 of 4.

I too thought series 2 was better than series 1 but am disappointed in the Job backstory. Unless I missed something, his mother died and his junkie sister is living in the family flat. He doesn’t get on with her so doesn’t want to live in the flat. Big deal.
