Yes - loved it. I could not work out how it would be scored but apparently they have to touch the various sensors on the way up.
Enjoyed some basketball this afternoon too whilst Mum enjoyed the cycling which was on in the morning.

The climbing was good wasn't it, much better yo watch than I thought it would be.
Am I right in thinking karate is in this Olympics. I wasn't really concentrating on the radio this morning but they said something like karate was in at this Olympics but Paris had declined it, so this could be the only ever chance of a medal.
I wonder what Paris adds in then.

I'm watching the first part of the Showjumping final and I don't know who upset the course designer but someone must have cos this first track is a beast!

The karate is in. I shall watch that later. And I did read somewhere that Petanque will be shown for the first time in Paris. Speaking of which, there's no bowls this year, is there?
The one thing that the Discovery + has over the iPlayer is that it lists the events by sport rather than day and time. I've found it really hard to find what I want on iPlayer as I don't always know what day the sport I'm looking for was shown.

Another gold, this time in the cycling for Laura Kenny and Katie Archibald. Hurrah! No one knocked us over! I think this moves us up to fourth overall for the time being, although of course things could easily change.
It seems to me as if the Track and Field cohort have underdelivered so far (given that funding and television coverage is all based on medal prospects). Is that right or too harsh?
Im now off to catch up on my viewing.

I am just watching the showjumping part of that and OMG. They get a horse picked at random from a bunch of presumably similar capability, but the German leader just could not get hers to go! It was awful to watch, she seemed to be in tears before she even started the round. And of course once it finally decided to get going it refused and had fences down all over the shop. In the end she was retired I think and of course in floods of tears again. I can’t believe she is a bad rider though or she would be at The Olympics. I felt very sorry for her, although of course that did help us get gold! 👍

I understand that all the horses are preselected, checked and tested around the courses. The selection is random but the rider the day before had problems with the same horse. I did watch and it was awful for her but what can you do, it's not even the case that the crowd noise spooked it. I think it had had enough yesterday.
That is considered the luck of the draw, just as being knocked off your bike in the Madison does not stop the race - you are given 5 laps to get back on track for the next sprint.
