Not too impressed with the BBC anchor presenters. A liittle to manic and over the top for my tastes. The anchor in my book should be a little more grounded and not prone to being caught up in the hype. Des Lyman or Steve Ryder anyone?

Won't come cheap though.

Andrew Cotter is a first rate commentator on the athletics and other sports too but rarely gets a mention. Agreeably dry too. But Paula Radcliffe despite being one of GB's greatest long distance runners her commentary sadly, although very informative, is very annoying.

TBH you would think no other country than the UK was taking part judging by the very limited coverage. But it was all very enjoyable and those really devoted to sport would sign up for the full package.
Paralympics in 4 weeks time (I think). Looking forward to that.

There was coverage of other countries. The Italians did very well and the high jump was brilliant. It was also great that in BMX, skateboarding, and mountain biking countries like Chile and Columbia were right up there.
Yes, the coverage dominated around events we had a chance at but within those events there were Egyptians winning karate, Cubans winning boxing, etc.
We were representing GB & Northern Ireland not the UK, Bidie. People can be part of the GB&NI team if they are from dependencies like the Falklands or have British citizenship or dual nationality and so on. If it was the UK they couldn't and also all the countries in GB&NI represent separately in the Commonwealth Games.

I really miss the guy who used to do the post race interviews in the athletics post Sally Gunnell.

Cheers for that Beverley.

No worries, GB, UK and British Isles get very confusing because of the Ireland/Northern Ireland situation.
