I don’t like Sally Breton in this at all, and think there is zero chemistry between her and Humphrey. He seems quite caring, but also very much aware that he is punching above his weight (in his mind). It’s a pleasant enough afternoon or early evening watch, but nothing more imo.

Do you, she doesn't come across to me as being out of his league. The part is very needy.

Is it me, or did it end rather abruptly? Had they tidied up all the loose ends? Just reminds me how much I miss Death in Paradise

I don’t think she is out of his league but I think he does. He seems just so grateful to have her.. her not so much! 😂

I think the IVF angle is sensitively covered. Just how difficult - and costly - it is for couples. Enjoyed this weeks episode - even if we saw the items used to make the crop circles in the first 5 minutes. Have a soft spot for the local criminal idiot, Josh.

I hope the lack of comment doesn’t mean that most people gave up before or during the final episode… I wouldn’t blame them - for about 55 minutes it was beyond tedious, the only moment I enjoyed was the chap whose llama had to live in the garden because the cat wouldn’t let it into the house! But then at the end, a sighting of an old friend, apparently doing fine! I won’t mind if they make another series, we need programmes which are light, but I would be glad if they got rid of the tedious Martha, she should just go off with Archie, and there’s a limit to how much we can take of Humphrey not concentrating on his work The other characters are growing on me, there’s potential for the programme, but only if they rethink the central pair IMHO of course

I don't mind the personal stuff mixed with the crime stuff, but maybe some lighter stories for the personal stuff would be better. I'll watch the second series.
I liked that we saw the DiP gang (although the scene by the shack with Selwyn looked a little fake at times). I hope it leads to a proper crossover episode with Neville and Humphrey working together. 🙂

P. S. When I saw Harry I thought, 'the POVers are going to be happy he's made an appearance!' 😂

Absolutely!
I enjoyed it, it was a nice bit of light viewing and I enjoyed the final episode.
Also enjoyed the Llama/cat scenario!

Yes, I was beginning to get a fed up with the Humphrey / Martha storyline. But now they’ve got that out of the way ready for the next series, I’m sure it’ll pick up. On the whole I’ve enjoyed this as a spin off. Nice that it’s not a murder each episode.

I was thrilled to see Harry! He got more air time in this than he usually gets in about 4 episodes of DiP. I thought Humphrey was going over there to help with a case, from what I (mis)read online.
I think the central pairing are the biggest problem for this series, ie the basic premise of the show!😂. Martha has been very badly acted throughout imho, Humphrey not an awful lot better. Her mother, Archie and the sergeant (and Selwyn the duck) could have anchored a series set in Devon a lot better than they have.

I have enjoyed this series. The balance of light hearted, puzzling crimes and personal stuff is not always easy, but on the whole it worked, and the scenery is gorgeous.
So glad Humph finally thumped the smarmy rival. I hope he is NOT back for series 2.
The llama/cat/wife scenario was so well written you could PICTURE them all!
It is in the right time/day slot and deserves a second series.
