I have never liked stilettos or high heels at all! In fact I actually only have six pairs of shoes and two of sandals!

I thought this week was relatively simple in terms of the technical and the bags. The crochet was a good idea and Esme did say they might need to use lining and interfacing and guess what the person who did that won garment of the week. They get advance warning of what is coming up in that section because they need time to source materials and think about their patterns. Anyone anywhere would be telling them that cutting crochet requires planning.
This was really all about technical skill in cutting and fitting. I am sure everyone of them could make those trousers any day of the week, the trick was listening to the advice and following the guidance.

I did laugh when they said they had to turn tote bags into clothes as most people do it the other way around.

A shame about Matthew’s dress, because it looked good at a distance! I disagree that the bow would have brought it together, because it was such a ghastly blanket I didn’t think it went at all! I don’t like crocheted blankets but did think the GOTW looked very good, and also some were shockers. I’d rather stay in than have to be seen in that purple effort! I hated Fauve’s colour choices, very garish imho, and expected her to leave, but she is one of my favourites so glad she stayed.

Just found out that Aasma's shoes have red soles! Loboutins! There's lots of posts on the FB group of crochet blankets that have taken months to make and were torture to sew together. One women said she would take down anyone who even waved a pair of scissors at it!

Last night was a mixed bag! Didn't think any of the skirts were modernist but I did like the style. The transformations were mostly good. Aasma's was gorgeous! West African style fused with Filipino sleeves. The MTM was interesting. Some very different interpretations of Surrealism. I didn't agree with either of the judge's decisions this week.

I liked the black dress that Tony did. It was a complete representation of surrealism inspired by a painting. As in his take on it, rather than just lifting what was already provided. Like the miniature shirt and the eyes.
I think there must be a lot of editing around the judges decisions. I disliked the leatherette dress but, again it was an original take on the theme rather than just the theme.

I liked that dress as well. Agree with Esme that it was punk in the way it was presented. And it did represent the painting. But I would have chosen the snake dress.

I thought the taffeta skirts were gorgeous… until they put the appliqué on them!
I think a dress should have won the transformation challenge as I wasn’t much taken with that top.
MTM next!

I thought Vicky would go. I struggled to see the surrealist connection to at least half those dresses. Now am I missing the point, or should the other Tony’s have said This Is Not A Dress? I did actually like that one though. I thought the stupid little shirt ruined what looked like a rather fab dress.

I thought it would be Vicky who went out too and was surprised at who it was. I was so pleased for Fauve but even though I liked her dress a lot I would have chosen Asmaa's transformation jacket as garment of the week. Fauve's combination of leather and lace must have been such a nightmare to sew and she did make a really good job of it so that was probably what swung it in her favour.

Who would have thought a little girl's party dress made of neoprene would work? But it did, it was lovely! I will miss Fauve. I have come to appreciate her wry comments and dry sense of humour more and more as the series progresses.

Me too! She was very funny. I did agree with her leaving though as her MTM was a mess. I think it will be Vicki going next week. I reckon winner of the series will be Mia or Lizzy
