Me too! She was very funny. I did agree with her leaving though as her MTM was a mess. I think it will be Vicki going next week. I reckon winner of the series will be Mia or Lizzy That's what I think too Miranda with Asmaa being in the final with them. All three have flare and imagination.I don't mind who wins because they are all good sewers left in now and they are all such nice people. |

Boo! Fauve was my favourite! The neoprene dress looked great but it was badly made imho. Lizzie had a nightmare but I did like the colour of that skirt.
I think Asmaa might win. Mia is good, but a bit staid for these judges. Lizzie has time problems nearly every week which could finish her off, sadly because I do like her. I hope Tony goes next because I think his sewing skills are very low really.

Oh no! I'm really sad to see who went. But the GotW was gorgeous.
I really enjoyed this week. From 18 to 25 I was in a serious relationship. So that was most of the 80s. The 90s were when I had my wild time. Did a lot of clubbing.

Well, that was a shock wasn't it! It was the right decision though given that you are judged on how you perform on the day and past performance doesn't count for anything. There was no doubting which would be garment of the week. It was absolutely stunning. I love that Asmaa designs and makes special bras for her patients. I think she is lovely.I hope and pray it never happens to me but I can imagine that it would be quite reassuring to have her as your surgeon when you are going through the scariest time of your life.

Although the dress was excellent, I wasn't keen on the black frill at the bottom. I thought it was too much of a contrast. There didn't appear to be any of the MTM dresses which were awful.

I thought GOTW was beautifully made but also not so keen on the frill. I think it would have looked good without it and hemmed above the knee, perhaps with a bit of a back split (but not too high!). Poor Lizzie, who seemed such a nice lady, used that gold fabric which clung in all the wrong places when the model walked so it outlined all her bits and pieces. However the one I loathed was Tony’s which made that model look really fat and lumpy, and she no doubt isn’t at all! It was dreadful. I don’t know how he has survived this long.
It seemed odd to me that Lizzie would pick a female concert going outfit for her male icon! I liked it, but it had no visible link to the Prodigy for me. But how surreal was it when Patrick said the next one could be for someone going to a Prodigy concert!!!!! Is he psychic? But a member of public going out for the night isn’t an icon for me.

The models this year are all shapes, ages and sizes, which was done deliberately by the production team. They've had the same models all the way through so should have their measurements down pat.
They said Tony's dress was well sewn apart from the neck and it was a good fit apart from the armholes. Lizzie unfortunately had a bit of a mare in all rounds.

Well their idea of a good fit and mine clearly differ because she looked atrocious. If I tried on that dress in a shop I would hand it back PDQ. Mind you didnt he use another odd fabric? Maybe that didn’t help with a flattering fit. Sometimes these rubbery things just sit how they want regardless of the body.

Is there more emotion from the leavers this year than in previous series? I don't remember there was quite so much full-on crying before! They chose the right one to go again unfortunately - another one I really, really liked so I was very sorry.
To be honest I thought all those smoking jackets looked a mess in their own ways, some were just more of a mess than others. Mia did that scalloped collar brilliantly I thought as it must have been so hard to get it all evenly shaped. It just didn't look right to me on the garment which wasn't helped by the fact that it was too short and didn't fit the model. I know she had Harry Styles in mind but I thought that (extremely pretty) fabric just didn't look right as a man's smoking jacket.
I would have chosen Asmaa's Audrey Hepburn dress as GoTW. It was gorgeous.
Semi-final next week: how has that come round so quickly?!

I think if Lauren had finished her Hepburn dress it would have won. That style looks so much better in matt black. As Givenchy knew!
I didn't like Mia's jacket at all. Not my style in any way. But scallops are difficult to do so fair play to her for that.

He's just doing well enough to stay in front of one person. This week Lauren had a disaster in two rounds, much like Lizzie last week. I expect he will be out next week though. Unless Vicki has another bad week.

He really should have gone by now but, unfortunately, other much better sewers have had disastrous outcomes so have saved him. It will be between him and Vicky (she isn't me!) to be knocked out in the semi final and it only needs her to have a bad week and he will go through. Who would have thought at the beginning that that could happen? |
