I found it all pretty confusing. Adding the stolen child twist was just too much. Just for a moment, I also thought the sister was going to try to kill Clarissa. So did I! I had her down as very odd right from the start and became more and more convinced last night that she had killed her sister in law.
I couldn't really understand why they hadn't registered Hope as their own daughter. No-one would have been any the wiser since you don't have to produce evidence that you have given birth to the child you are registering. If they'd done that she could have had proper medical treatment and she wouldn't have died....but then there wouldn't have been a story would there?

The actor who played the Detective had a familiar surname. One of the Redgrave acting dynasty no doubt.

Yes, most recently in Holby City.

And the sister was Mrs. Baptiste in The Missing and the subsequent spin-off.

2 more series have been commissioned- but will there be any cast left? Or are we starting again?

Good grief! I wasn't expecting that. Poor old Thomas.

Well, that was a surprise.
But chunks of dialogue while a character is wearing a hazmat hood is a very bad idea. I understood the word “charcoal”, which gave them the clue because charcoal didn’t filter out the nerve agent, but so much of the detail from poor Thomas was just a muffled mumble.
Also, maybe I just wasn’t paying enough attention, but what did Jack do with the formula?

He gave the formula and the family photo to the ambulance worker. It appears she then dropped it in the ambulance, to be found later by Nikki.

Glad I'm not the only one who couldn't follow all the details.....but my goodness, what a shock the end result was!

I know! Thomas gone, Clarissa going, it just leaves Jack and Nikki. Bring back Harry!

I know! Thomas gone, Clarissa going, it just leaves Jack and Nikki. Bring back Harry! Yes please! It's a shame they blew Leo up isn't it? I liked him.

It seems the actress who plays Clarissa has a part in a Hollywood movie alongside Mark Wahlberg

I've had a few ideas for replacements to replenish the Lyell Centre numbers:
1. Bring in the Ruby character from Death in Paradise, adapted as a forensic pathologist of course. Must keep it credible.
2. Keep Emilia Fox as Nikki with her dark hair and introduce her blonde-haired, estranged identical twin, Jacki, also a trained CSI/pathologist, back from Australia - also played by Emelia of course. Imagine the levels of jeopardy that would open up!
3. Eddie Izzard as the new boss could tick a whole load of BBC 'woke' issue boxes - appearing randomly in both his personas - suit in one scene then dress/makeup in the next. That would really keep the other cast members and the audience on its toes.
Any other thoughts?
